One of the newest schools of Ikebana among thousands, Aratame School emphasizes contemporary styles, presentations, and striking modern design. Students first study basic ikebana techniques and as their skill evolves, gradually attain great freedom of expression in arranging.
I enjoyed your entry at the Bouquets to Art show at the DeYoung. I’ve posted a photo, a detail, of your entry, along with a link to your site.
I’d appreciate it if you would be able to email me back with the name of the flower in the photo. It’s exquisite.
Here’s a link to my post: http://barbarafalconernewhall.com/2015/04/17/bouquets-to-you-at-the-deyoung-museumthrough-sunday/

Hi Barbara,
The flower you asked is called Liriodendron Tulipifera, or commonly known as Tulip tree. It is currently in bloom in the Bay area. It is a very big tree.
I would like to learn about Ikibana
I would assume you would want to take ikebana lessons close to where you live. I will be happy to refer you to a teacher if you would let me know where you live. You can also refer to our teachers list on our website and chose the one convenient for you. Best, Thanh
