Nancy Carlson from Chiko School studies with Christina Schuknecht and exhibits at I.I. flower shows and programs. Yoshiko Gilli has studied Ohara ikebana since 1989 and holds a 2nd term Associate Masters Degree. Dianne Ichiai Krueger studied with Sakae Sakaki and has held an Enshu Intermediate Diploma since 2007. Sumi Metz is President of Aratame School USA and has exhibited widely in the Bay Area for I.I. and teaches students in this relatively new school of Ikebana. Nadine Suyehiro studies with LeSage-sensei and teaches Ikenobo classes in San Mateo. Helen Tan studies and exhibits Wafu ikebana, and Rhody Vallejo from Sacramento I.I. chapter holds a Sogetsu teaching certificate and studies with Kika Shibata.
The Holiday Bazaar
The annual Bazaar welcomes everyone to a festive sale of holiday gift items, ikebana supplies and containers, pottery by local artists, Japanese foods for lunch, seasonal greenery, holiday table centerpieces, homemade baked goods wrapped and ready for gifting, a silent auction of vases and containers, and a regifting table with gifrs received but never-used. Cash or checks accepted – no credit cards.
