Yoichi Mizutani, Ikenobo
Mr. Yoichi Mizutani is the current Special Visiting Professor from Ikenobo Headquarters in Kyoto and brings his extraordinary skill and artistry to us in April. He is a graduate of the Special Advanced Courses in Shoka at the Ikenobo Central Training Institute. In 2011 he graduated from the Advanced Course and in that same year he presented a “Reishiki-ike” ceremony and ikebana demonstration at the Taipei International Flora Exposition in Taiwan. Also in 2011 he visited China as a member of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth Programme. In 2012 during Ikenobo Ikebana’s 550th year of recorded history, Professor Mizutani participated in the Special Demonstration held at the Tokyo Forum.
Professor Mizutani lives in Shimotsuma City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, and teaches ikebana in his own classroom. In addition to studying and teaching Ikenobo Ikebana, Professor Mizutani enjoys music and plays classical guitar.
