Ikebana International Flower Show took place March 19 & 20, 2011 in San Francisco.
Date and Time: March 19, 20, 2011
Program: Springtime Blossoms
The joy and beauty of Friendship through Flowers fills the County Fair Building this month as we present our biennial Ikebana Flower Show. This show is a wonderful opportunity for every member of the chapter to display Ikebana for hundreds of visitors from throughout the Bay Area and beyond. The show opens with a flourish at 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning with a brief ribbon cutting ceremony. Then visitors entering the Gallery will be greeted by fresh and elegant arrangements from all seven Ikebana schools in the chapter. Our show is renowned for the large number of arrangements displayed, the variety of Ikebana styles, professionally designed staging, and the excellent demonstrations by master artists. Proceeds earned at the show through ticket sales, the raffle, and boutique items provide essential funding for our programs for the next two years. We encourage every member to be a part of the show by entering an exhibit or two, buying and selling admission tickets, and volunteering to help one of the committee chairs. Volunteers should contact Co-Chair Thanh Nguyen at 650-854-8897 or by e-mail at nguyeht@gmail.com. Come help to create the show and enjoy this vibrant salute to springtime showcasing the extraordinary talent of our chapter.
