The Seventies were busy and rewarding years for Yasundo. He took
three sabbatical leaves in 1970, 1973 and 1977. We traveled around the world in
1970 and 1977 and in 1973 we went to South America and then to Japan through
the South Pacific. In between we visited Spain and France. During this period,
we also went to Mexico six times. First we were introduced to Mexico by our
French friends for a Christmas vacation in 1971, and we fell in love with the
country. Twice we stayed in Mexico City for two months in summer while Yasundo
taught at the Institute Polytechnique. Domestically we drove to Seattle to
visit Yuri and Jim, or to Sedona, Arizona we to visit the Baxters. The Yasudas
came often and we traveled with them. |
