Age 8, 1920.

He enjoyed playing in his garden which had peach and cherry blossoms in spring and figs in the fall. At school, he was good with mathematics, science, and composition. He did not like history, Japanese language, and gymnastics.

Yasundo Takahashi, Age 15, 1927 A 15-year-old, wearing school uniform in 1927. He studied at Meirin Middle School. At home he liked gardening, caring for ducks, and reading astronomy books.
In 1929 he entered the Eighth Middle School in Nagoya, skipping the last year of the middle school. With his friends at a park (Yasundo on far right).
