A Guided Tour of the Conservatory of Flowers
with Scot Medbury

The fall season opened with a guided tour through San Francisco's renowned Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. Mr. Scot Medbury, Director, Strybing Arboretum & Botanical Gardens led members and guests through the tropical wonders of the Conservatory, commenting on the many exotic plants in the collection. Mr. Medbury shared his wide experience and expertise with botanical gardens in the Pacific Northwest, Great Britain, New Zealand and Hawaii. He has been advisor and master-planning consultant to numerous botanical gardens and arboreta worldwide.

Members gathered around a large pond in the Conservatory while Mr. Medbury commented on plants housed there and how the area will appear when reconstruction is completed.


Mr. Medbury used a graphic plan to explain reconstruction details of the Conservatory's restoration project.
