TWO POTTERS DO IKEBANA
Irene Jenkins, Aratame School
Shuji Ikeda, Ikenobo School

Irene Jenkins, Aratame School

Irene Jenkins uses vessels she has made in Aratame School ikebana classes. For many years Ms. Jenkins has combined her love of gardening with her skill as a ceramist. As a potter, she encourages ikebana friends to create their own containers and have fun doing it.

Shuji Ikeda teaches Ikenobo ikebana in his studio in Berkeley. He is an award winning potter with many exhibitions in museums and galleries locally and nationally. A former member of "Pottery 7" group in San Francisco, he now creates unique vessels which are widely sought by ikebana artists and art collectors. He also is the author of numerous articles and books, as well as being a frequent ikebana demonstrator and exhibitor.
