Nancy Locke's ikebana name, Seirin, translates as "Pure Sparkle", and that is the effect her work casts on all who see it. With Wafu School's Sanyo degree, she is an active teacher and an officer of the Wafu Ikebana Society and the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of Ikebana International. Ms. Locke brings expertise in horticulture and gardening to her ikebana and she encourages her students to view floral materials with "fresh eyes". She often demonstrates and exhibits ikebana and her work has been admired at San Francisco's Asian Art Museum, the Presidio Officers' Club, Wafukai flower shows, Filoli Estate in Woodside, the San Mateo County Fair and Floral Fiesta, Japantown's Cherry Blossom Festival, and many social and garden clubs. |
