The Aratame School of Ikebana has recently established its presence in the Bay Area, joining the other schools represented in the Chapter. We welcomed the local branch of Aratame School with a debut program by Mme. Sumi Metz. She is well known to Chapter members, having been an active member for many years, often demonstrating and exhibiting for her former school, Wafukai. Members had their first glimpse of Aratame's style when Mme. Metz and her students presented a demonstration program and exhibition at the Saturday program. Her work has always been enjoyed for its charming and innovative blend of themes with materials.
