The final program of the 2002-2003 season featured ikebana demonstrations by two master teachers. Suiyo Fujimoto, Ohara School, and Biho Takahashi, Sogetsu School, performed on stage at the County Fair Building. The chapter returned to its home base after a year of programs held in various locations while the building underwent retrofit. Preceding the ikebana program members elected and installed new officers for the coming year. Mmes. Fujimoto and Takahashi are well known in the Bay Area ikebana community, each having commited many years to teaching, demonstrating and exhibiting. Also, both have assumed leadership roles in their respective ikebana schools and have devoted many hours to community projects supported by Ikebana International and related ikebana organizations and civic events. |

Fifteen ikebana containers have been donated to the chapter by Mrs. Frances Rambo. Mmes. Fujimoto and Takahashi used some of these in their program and the remainder were used for exhibition arrangements. At the end of the program, all the containers with their ikebana arrangements, were offered at auction to the audience. Auction proceeds were donated to Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park to help restore the Garden of Fragrance. |
