Ikenobo Senior Professor Midori Kato presented a
springtime program with the latest designs from Ikenobo Ikebana School.
Professor Kato resides in Tokyo where she is an active member of the Ikenobo
Tokyo Yamanote-kai Chapter. She began her study of Ikenobo ikebana in 1970 and
in 1999 she graduated from the Advanced Course at the Ikenobo Central Training
Institute at Ikenobo headquarters in Kyoto. She has since completed several
special advanced courses in classic Rikka, Shoka and Free Style designs. She
currently serves on the Central Governing Board of the Ikenobo Society of
Floral Art and is a special member of the Japan Ikebana Art Association. In
addition to teaching and demonstrating ikebana, Professor Kato has exhibited
her work abroad at Ikenobo events in London, Singapore, Taiwan and in this
country in Illinois and Washington D.C. |
