The New Year was ushered in with the elegant Ikebana of Enshu Isshin Ryu, demonstrated by Mme. Sakae Ichiei Sakaki, Bay Area leader of this traditional, greatly-admired school of Ikebana. Mme. Sakaki is an Enshu School Master Teacher and currently teaches in San Francisco, El Cerrito and Berkeley.

In addition to the demonstration program, past presidents of the chapter were honored at this 39th anniversary of the chapter's founding.
